Here’s a look at today’s top stories…
Forget Wall Street, President Obama has a bailout for Main Street. The President says his job plan will give tax breaks to small businesses so they can purchase new equipment and hire staff. He also wants to expand federal programs that will spend more money on road, air and waterway projects.
A special primary is underway in Massachusetts to see who will fill the late Sen. Edward Kennedy’s senate seat. Four democrats and two republicans are vying for the spot.
Five suicide bombers attacked Baghdad in a series of car bombings. At least 112 people are dead and more than 400 others are hurt. It’s the first major attack in 2 months.
The International Olympic Committee is reassigning Marion Jones’s Sydney medals. In 2007 Jones was stripped of her gold and bronze medals for using steroids. Pauline Davis-Thompson will now receive the gold medal for the 200 meters run, and Tatyana Kotova will receive the bronze for long jump.
