Jobs Get Bailout?

President Obama announced today that leftover bailout money could be used to cut the U.S. deficit and create jobs. After a meeting with the Turkish Prime Minister, Mr. Obama told reporters that TARP cost less than expected, freeing up funds.

AIG Salary Drama

Some AIG executives are threatening to quit over poor compensation. The Obama Administration’s “pay czar” Kenneth Feinberg says he wants to cut bonuses specifically in the bailed out company’s financial products unit. The division drew massive ire for bonuses paid out earlier this year.

Mumbai Terror Charges

U.S. citizen David Headley has been charged in the deadly Mumbai 2008 bombings. The attacked killed 160 people including 6 Americans. Headley is also facing charges in the plot to blow up a Danish newspaper.

Criminal Prank

The teenage children of some U.S. military personnel in Japan have been arrested and accused of attempted murder. Four teens allegedly strung a rope between two poles, causing severe head injury to a woman riding a motorbike.
