Outlook Not So Good

Bad news seniors, it’s still rough out there. A new survey says that the job outlook for 2010 college graduates is grim, with offers expected to drop by 1%. Last year, job prospects for 2009 grads plunged 40% to record lows.

‘Tis the Season

Careful driving home for Thanksgiving break this year. The AAA says holiday travel by car will be up 2.1% from last year with 33.2 million Americans hitting the road.

Whoops.

$98 billion. That’s the amount of improper payments the federal government made in the 2009 fiscal year. That’s a 37.5% increase over last year’s number. President Obama is expected to sign an executive order next week to combat the problem.

Trouble Down Under

Australia has issued its first “catastrophic” fire warning to residents in the southern part of the country. A heat wave, combined with a severe drought and strong winds is turning the area into a virtual tinderbox. Authorities are urging residents to evacuate.
