Online Protest

If your Facebook group got hijacked today, you’re not alone. An organization called “Control Your Info” took over 286 groups on the popular social networking site. Control Your Info is protesting Facebook’s “group administrator” policy. They say that when an administrator steps down, anyone can take over the group account, allowing them access to members’ personal information.

Taliban Terror

A Taliban suicide bomber attacked the city of Charsadda in Northwest Pakistan, killing 20 and wounding 30 others. The militant group vows to step up its violent tactics in response to the Pakistani military’s offensive in the region.

Execution Imminent

Convicted “Beltway Sniper” John Allen Muhammad is scheduled to die tonight by lethal injection in Virginia. Muhammad and his accomplice Lee Boyd Malvo are convicted of shooting and killing 10 people over 3 weeks in 2002. Muhammad claims he’s innocent. Virginia Governor Tim Kaine has denied his request for clemency.

Ida Know, That’s A Lot of Rain!

Tropical Storm Ida is no longer… she’s been downgraded to a tropical depression. Winds have decreased to 35 miles per hour and as much as 8 inches of rain have fallen in some areas in the southeast.
