Here’s a look at today’s top stories…
Some are calling it the “Three Amigos Summit,” but officially it’s the North American Leaders’ Summit. President Obama, Mexican President Felipe Calderon and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper are meeting today in Guadalajara. The three leaders will discuss the economy, drug related violence and climate change.
At least 40 people are dead and dozens injured after bombs ripped apart mostly Shiite communities in Iraq today. It’s the latest in a string of attacks since the U.S. officially turned over security in the area to Iraqi forces. An Iraqi government spokesman says al Qaeda is to blame for the blasts.
19 horses have been killed in Florida since January, possibly for their meat. An SPCA investigator says horse meat can sell for $7 to $20 per pound on the black market. Some people believe the meat has medical properties and can cure illnesses.
If you don’t want to haggle in person for a new car you could try a new website being launched by GM and eBay. gm.ebaby.com allows users to scope out cars on line and bargain with various dealers. The site is a new way for GM to introduce its cars to the market. The auto giant is planning to close 40% of its U.S. dealerships by 2010.
