School Money

President Obama says community colleges are the key to boosting the economy. The President announced a $12 billion plan to invest in them. It’s called the American Graduation Initiative. Mr. Obama says the education students receive at community colleges is important because, “jobs requiring at least an associate degree are projected to grow twice as fast as jobs requiring no college experience.”

Healthcare Over Hurdle #1

The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee has approved its version of a bill that would revamp healthcare in America. The bill creates government sponsored healthcare that would rival private insurers. The legislation also calls for employers to provide insurance to employees or pay a government fee. Meanwhile, the House is developing a health care plan of its own.

Let’s Try This Again!

NASA is fueling space shuttle Endeavor for its rescheduled launch tonight. In fact, it’s the sixth time in over a month that the space agency has tried to send the craft into orbit. But problems like the weather and fuel leaks have kept the Endeavor from endeavoring. The shuttle will be carrying equipment to the International Space Station… if it ever takes off.
