Here’s a look at today’s top stories…
The mystery surrounding Air France Flight 447 continues to grow. The latest report from the Brazilian air force says that the debris found in the Atlantic Ocean near the flight path is not from the plane.
Penske Automotive Group is the proud new owner of Saturn. General Motors announced the sale this morning. The deal will be finalized in October and is expected to save 13,000 jobs. As part of its restructuring, GM is also selling its Saab and Pontiac lines. The automaker sold the Hummer brand to a Chinese company earlier this week.
A better-than-expected job report is out today, but the news is still grim for some 345,000 workers. That’s the number of jobs that were cut in May. Analysts had predicted 520,000 jobs would be lost last month.
President Obama got a special tour of the Buchenwald labor camp today with Holocaust survivor and Nobel laureate, Eli Wiesel. Wiesel was imprisoned there during WWII. Tomorrow Mr. Obama will visit Normandy, France for the 65th anniversary of D-Day.
