America doesn’t really have much experience with floral carpets, so I can only speculate as to how people in India view them. But it seems a strange thing for the police to be spending their free time doing. Maybe they need a softer image? Maybe some PR guy was like, “I got it! Nothing says nonthreatening better than rose petals! So let’s give the public ONE MEEEELION rose petals!!”

I wonder who gets to clean that up? That, to me, seems like a fun job. Get a giant broom and go to town.
