Dancing Optional in the Papaya Dance

Combine one part hand jive, an “electric” shoulder sway and a little clapping from B I N G O.

As far as dances go, the Papaya Dance doesn’t require much dancing at all. I would call it synchronous clapping, but not entirely synchronous clapping… that would preclude anyone who really wanted to get into the spirit, but lacked the skills required to clap in time with the person next to them.

Here in the U.S., I’m not sure the Papaya would do as well as, say, the Achey-Breaky in it’s achey-heyday [Warning: rednecks with internet access]… but it certainly could give the chicken dance a run.

Oh, and by a show of hands… who knows what the truffle shuffle is?  Phew… as long as I’m not the only one.

Speaking about bad dances, how about the Curly Shuffle? Mets fans should know that one.
